United States Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman tonight defiantly vowed: "My team does not feel this is over by any stretch of the imagination." Trailing 10-6 with 12 singles left at the K Club, Lehman was reminded of seven years ago when Ben Crenshaw said he "had a feeling" when his side faced the same deficit and then came storming back to win. "I know that our team as a chance," commented Lehman when Crenshaw's quote was put to him. "I know we have the ability to get the job done. I have a feeling that our team is going to play incredibly inspired golf, are going to make our wives and our country proud and are going to give it their best." Ian Woosnam said after the draw for the final day had come out: "The Americans have always been strong in singles. "Hopefully we're not going to make the same mistake as 1999. I've never believed in fate - you believe in your own talent and I believe in these guys' talent and I believe that talent is going to come out and get us those 14 1/2 points. "I think it'll be the highlight of my career if we win. "I would have stood here very happy with 9 1/2 points. I have got 10. We came here as a team, we are still playing as a team and that's how we intend to play tomorrow. "We have 12 strong players here and they are all willing to play with anybody." Regarding Sergio Garcia, who has claimed four points out of four so far, Woosnam added: "Like Jose Maria Olazabal, he just seems to rise to the occasion. They just love playing in a team spirit."
