clarke v johnson
It was an emotional success for Clarke.
Clarke birdied the par-five fifth but Johnson did the same at the next. However, the American missed a seven-footer at the sixth to hand the advantage back. Johnson then picked up on the seventh to allow Clarke to win with a par four and a curling 25-foot birdie put him three up at the 10th. Incredibly, from off the green 70 feet away he holed at the 12th to go four up but missed a four-footer at the next. Johnson generously conceded a four-foot putt at the par-five 16th and accepted a 3 and 2 defeat.
