After 10 holes of par golf Donald birdied the 11th from 25 feet, and then Campbell dumped his approach to the next into the water, made five and the Englishman went two up. He needed two putts from 18 feet to win the short 12th but needed only one, although Campbell pulled one back with a birdie three at the 15th. The lead was cut to one when Campbell two-putted from 20 feet for birdie at the 16th. However, the American pulled his approach to the 17th green in the River Liffey, could only make bogey and Donald made par to win.
