Howell - thrashed Wetterich.
David Howell crushed Brett Wetterich by 5&4 in Sunday's K Club singles. Howell looked to have an easy task against rookie Wetterich, who had lost his only match of the contest, and was two up after seven thanks to one birdie and a double bogey from his opponent. Wetterich hit back with a birdie on the ninth to reduce the deficit but Howell took command with birdies on the 11th and 12th, chipping in from off the green on the former. Howell was on a roll now and birdied the next two as well to seal a 5&4 victory.
