casey v furyk

Casey's last shot had been the hole-in-one that won him and Howell their foursomes and he birdied the first and third before slipping back to only one-up with a six on the 568-yard fourth.

Furyk lost the fifth and seventh to further Casey birdies and fell four down when he bogeyed the 173-yard eighth. The 10th was shared in birdies and Furyk took the next, but Casey then returned to the 14th and while he did not ace it again he did make a 30-footer for a two.

The American matched it and from three down with three to play he made a wondrous 40-foot eagle putt on the long 16th. But Casey was not to be denied. The world number three had a birdie chance of his own at the 17th, but he never got to attempt it as the World Match Play champion rolled in a 25-footer and raised his arms in triumph again.
